The Greatest Luxury at a Wedding Isn't What You Think

When people imagine a luxury wedding, they usually picture extravagant flowers, a breathtaking venue, designer outfits and beautifully styled tables.

Those things are certainly beautiful.

But after coordinating many weddings, I've realised that true luxury looks very different.

It's...

Time.

Time to enjoy a glass of champagne together.

Time to hug your grandparents.

Time to sit down for five minutes.

Time to admire your reception room before your guests arrive.

Time to actually eat your dinner while it's still warm.

Time to watch your guests having fun.

Time to step back and realise:

"We're married."

The mistake many couples make

They fill every single minute.

Another activity.

Another speech.

Another surprise.

Another tradition.

Everything seems like a good idea during the planning process.

Until the wedding day arrives.

The problem isn't adding beautiful moments.

The problem is leaving no room for life to happen.

A wedding with no breathing space is incredibly fragile.

Five minutes of delay at the beginning can create a domino effect for the rest of the day.

And suddenly everyone feels rushed.

Including you.

Invisible moments make the biggest difference

When I create a wedding timeline, I always include moments that don't officially exist.

They're not written on the schedule.

Guests never notice them.

But they're there.

Ten quiet minutes before the ceremony.

A few extra minutes after family portraits.

Enough flexibility to enjoy a conversation without checking the clock.

Those invisible moments are what make a wedding feel effortless.

People often think everything went perfectly.

The truth?

Everything was simply anticipated.

My wedding planner advice

If you're hesitating between adding one more activity or keeping twenty minutes free...

Choose the twenty minutes.

You'll rarely regret having extra time.

You'll almost always regret not having enough of it.
