Your Wedding Day Won’t Fix Everything

(and why that’s actually good news)
We often imagine the wedding as a finish line:
After this, everything will be fine.
But a wedding doesn’t fix fragile relationships, erase family tensions, or magically heal insecurities.
And knowing that ahead of time is incredibly healthy.
A wedding isn’t a solution.
It’s a magnifier.
It amplifies what’s already there:
– love, of course
– but also fatigue
– unspoken issues
– unrealistic expectations
And that’s not a failure. It’s freedom.
A successful wedding isn’t a “perfect” one. It’s one lived with clarity, presence, and kindness toward yourselves.
My tip
Before the big day, ask each other:
What are we NOT expecting this day to fix?
That’s where peace begins.
