They got married… in black.

(And it was one of the brightest weddings I’ve ever witnessed.)
No white dress. No pastel palette. No peonies. They wanted a wedding that felt like them: intense, bold, and unapologetically theirs. So they chose… black.
One wore a flowing black velvet gown, elegant and rich. The other wore a dramatic black satin dress with a high slit and a deep red corset, echoing their shared love for gothic and baroque aesthetics.
And guess what?
It was breathtaking. Emotional. Full of warmth, laughter, glowing eyes, and glowing hearts.
Black didn’t take away the emotion — it amplified it. Because when you stop trying to please everyone, you create space for what truly matters.
What this wedding taught me
Traditions are beautiful only if they truly speak to you. Otherwise, they become costumes you wear for someone else. That day, I saw two women standing tall in their truth. And every guest felt it. There’s something powerful about saying:
“We didn’t follow the rules. We followed our truth.”
What about you?
Dreaming of a wedding that breaks every expectation?
You're in the right place.
